FAQ: Data protection

Does the Fake Shop Detector track my search and shopping behaviour?

The protection of your data is of particular concern to us. As a general rule, the Fake Shop Detector does not track your search and shopping behaviour!

If you have consented to real-time analysis by artificial intelligence, unknown websites are forwarded to our database. However, it is not possible to trace who visited these websites. Only the time at which an unknown website was forwarded to the database is recorded.

Known risk assessments are already answered offline and directly locally from the cache of one's own browser. This makes it impossible to create a profile of the surfing behaviour of individual users, even in the event of an intrusion into our backend system.

We ourselves guarantee through our terms of use that we will never merge log files with data sources or pass them on to third parties. Read more about this in the privacy policy and the terms of use of the Fake Shop Detector.

What personal data is stored for security reasons?

Unfortunately, we also expect targeted attacks on the Fake Shop Detector. In order to be able to take swift action against this with blocks, it is necessary from a technical point of view to record the IP addresses of server requests in the log files. This information is automatically deleted after 14 days.

Where can I find out more about data protection?

The development of the Fake Shop Detector follows a privacy-by-design approach.
